THE 'LITTLE HOUSE ON THE BOWERY' ROAD SHOW: Dennis Cooper and three authors in his great LHotB series will embark on a reading and promotional tour this October and November. DC will be reading and signing books along with Derek McCormack ('Grab Bag'), Benjamin Weissman ('Headless'), and Martha Kinney ('The Fall of Headless Horse'). All events are free, of course. UPDATE ON THE WIRE PROJECT: Details are filtering in about DC's upcoming collaboration with legendary British band Wire. The project has expanded into a multi-media performance oriented work involving six artists from various mediums. The collaborators now include Wire, DC, Turner Prize winning visual artist Martin Creed, art brut ensemble Furious Pig, stage designer Es Devlin, and actor Sir Ian Holm. The as yet untitled work will premiere in a series of performances at The Lyric Theater, Hammersmith, London on June 2, 3, and 4, 2005. Additional performances, a tour, a CD and/or DVD are all real possibilities.
'I APOLOGIZE,' DC's theatrical collaboration with director Gisele Vienne and composer Peter Rehberg, will have its world premiere in a series of performances at Les Subsistances, 8 bis quai Saint-Vincent, Lyon, France. LOS ANGELES: The work of artist Joel Westendorf, who designs the covers of the Little House on the Bowery books, as well the American editions of DC's novels 'Guide' and 'Period,' is on exhibit from August 8 to September 10 at Sister Gallery in LA's Chinatown district. BOGOTA, COLOMBIA: A selection of photographs, manuscripts, and correspondence from DC's amazing literary archives will be featured in 'Universal Love,' a traveling exhibition celebrating gay literature, which will open in Bogota on September 2nd and tour cities throughout Colombia through summer 2005. ITALY: The Italian edition of DC's 'All Ears' (Italian title TK), due this November from Playground Editions, will include several new essays, interviews, and journalistic works that didn't appear in the English language, as well as a fresh Afterword penned by DC.
IN BRIEF: The summer issue of the Czechoslovakian, English language cultural magazine The Prague Literary Journal features a chapter of DC's forthcoming novel 'The Sluts' ***** Speaking of 'The Sluts,' artist and designer Todd James has been tipped to illustrate DC's limited edition novel, tentatively due this December from Void Books.
